该剧取材于当今社会的争议话题之一 —— 大学生同居。虽然话题敏感，但很贴近生活。本剧以生动有趣的人物形象和诙谐幽默的喜剧风格，讲述大学生在学校外面合租的一些趣事。被热议为网络版《武林外传》和中国版《老友记》。 剧中每个成员都具有鲜明的个性，例如有洁癖的安宁，爱显摆的小宝，嗜赌的老车，宅男小飞，非主流赵宁，野蛮老婆姚梦，“妻管严”黎伟，有钱但又抠门的辰浩等等，每一集讲述一个有趣的故事。 在这部剧中，你能看到当代大学生的另一种生存状态，他们对社会的关注，他们的生活理想，他们彼此之间的情谊。无厘头搞笑当中又不乏当下社会的真实写照。所谓的80后，所谓的大学生，所谓的年轻人，他们就是代表，是这个时代的符号。
