昔ながらの旅館の女性と新しい義理の娘との激しい関係を扱っています。 直子は、金沢に名高い伝統旅館を所有する家族の長男と結婚する前に東京で働いていたキャリアウーマンです。 直子の新しい義母志乃は彼女を見知らぬ人と見なし、彼女を受け入れることを拒否します。 しかし、ある日、直子の夫宗介が突然姿を消し、多額の借金を残したとき、直子は志乃に宗介の借金を返済するために旅館で働く計画を告げる。
