紀錄片《豆腐味道·溯源篇》，是“中國味道”系列紀錄片中的又一精品力作。該片延續了該系列紀錄片前兩部——《江南味道》和《豆腐味道》中，關注健康飲食方式、提倡節儉且富有創意的生活主題，並在《豆腐味道》用小人物的視角講述人與食物關係的基礎之上，進一步挖掘豆腐這種食物的根系所在，探尋豆腐從誕生發展到今天的歷史。本片再次將鏡頭聚焦在以豆腐為生的中國人的身上。他們通過自己辛勤的勞動，以及從祖輩所傳承的豆腐製作手藝，認真而努力地生活著。他們把自己對於豆腐的理解和喜愛轉換為一道道美食，為自己的家鄉百姓帶來美味的享受。他們也通過豆腐，實踐著自己對於生活的理解，表達著對生活的熱愛。
