位於北京的故宮宏偉莊嚴，與香港人的關係似近還遠。不過，故宮的精妙建築模式，卻和本港不少傳統古建築一脈相承。宮內園林的佈置，某程度反映當朝皇帝的心境，設計概念亦與香港的園林異曲同工。重要文物均是歷史巨輪的見證，當中不少更與香港有剪不斷的關連！另外，皇帝大婚的排場，除了凸顯皇家的華貴氣派之外，背後意涵也跟傳統婚嫁習俗同出一轍。《觸得到的故宮》引領觀眾深入故宮，以眼睛、心靈感受昔日的禁宮歷史、帝后傳奇故事。主持們還會穿梭本港各個角落，體會當中與故宮契合的建築、文化特色。
