Matthew Cain explores the world of art through the prism of neuro-aesthetics in his new series What Makes a Masterpiece?, which begins on the 7th of January on More 4 at 9pm. Investigating what makes a masterpiece across genres through the field of scientific research that looks at how the human brain processes pieces of work, Matthew begins the series by focusing on stories and film; finding out why people are drawn to horror movies, examining the differences between men and women's responses to the same scene, and learning about advertisers' use of science to create effective commercials.
