Presented by Allan MacDonald. Third programme in the series marking the Year of Scotland at the 2017 Interceltique Festival of Lorient, with Scotland being represented by artists from the HEBCELT Festival. Featuring some of Scotland's best folk and traditional musicians setting the stages alight in Brittany this summer in front of eager French audiences, including Elephant Sessions, The Mischa MacPherson Trio and Blasta.
Julie Fowlis profiles up-and-coming Scottish band Tide Lines. In a little over a year, the four musicians, all of whom were steeped in traditional music, have taken their punchy sound and canny pop sensibility to festival audiences all over the UK. On their first visit to Lorient, they encounter their biggest audiences to date.
