One day, a huge eyeball appears near Mt. Fuji. People are shocked and panic. It just floats there, not doing anything, but Kitaro goes to get the situation under control. On his way there, he meets a man named Kadokura. He is researching youkai, specifically Daidarabocchi, and dreams of a world where humans and youkai live together. Kitaro warns him that it's better if humans and youkai don't grow too close, but he doesn't listen. Why is Kadokura so obsessed with Daidarabocchi? And who are the dark hooded figures moving in secret to resurrect Daidarabocchi? What is their aim...?!
ある日、突如富士山周辺に巨大な眼球が現れ、人々は驚きパニックに陥る。ただ浮かんでいるだけで、何をするわけでもないが、鬼太郎は事態の収拾のために動き出す。その途中で彼は、門倉という男性に出会う。彼は妖怪、中でもダイダラボッチを専門に研究しており、人間と妖怪の共存する世界を夢見ていた。鬼太郎は人間と妖怪は近づきすぎないほうがいいと彼に忠告するが、聞く耳をもたない。なぜ門倉はダイダラボッチに執着するのか。そして、ダイダラボッチ復活のために暗躍する黒いフードの一団の正体と目的とは…！？

Um dia, olhos começam a surgir de uma montanha. Outros pedaços de um corpo gigante também começam a surgir. Kitaro e seus amigos encontram um pesquisador e dizem que é indicação da volta do yokai bondoso Daidarabotchi. Mas pode não ser algo tão simples assim.
