The novel tells the story of a mother who does everything for her children. Without much instruction, Dona Xepa (Angela Leal) says everything wrong and this shames her children Rosália (Thais Fersoza) and Édison (Arthur Aguiar). The marketer got this nickname for distributing the leftovers in her stall to the poor. Abandoned by her husband Esmeraldino (José Dumont), Xepa supports her children by working a lot. Rosália is a lawyer, beautiful, ambitious, hates the life she leads and will do everything until she manages to infiltrate the rich world. Edison, on the other hand, is an architecture student and despite being ashamed of his mother at times, he can't do anything to harm her.
