The 2019 Formula 1 World Championship is the 70th edition of the Formula 1 World Championship. The competition, which began in 1950, took a turn on April 14, 2019 at the Shanghai circuit, where the thousandth Grand Prix of the history of the championship. In addition, from this season and according to a system in force from 1950 to 1959, an additional point is awarded to the author of the best lap in the race as well as to his team, on condition that he ranks among the ten first.
