Barbarossa

Itálie, 12. století. Severní část je ovládána německým císařem Fridrichem Barbarossou. Jeho snem je dobýt střední a jižní Itálii a oživit tak slavnou říši Karla Velikého. Nejprve je ale třeba potrestat město Miláno, které se jediné vzpírá císařově moci. Jeho obléhání a kruté pokoření má však dalekosáhlé následky. Rozhněvaný mladý kovář z Milána začíná vytvářet armádu 900 nespokojených mužů z různých měst - Komando smrti. Tento mladík se jmenuje Alberto da Giussano. Jeho snem je porazit císaře a vrátit svobodu Itálii. A tak přichází 29. květen 1176, kdy se na planině u Legnana postaví Komando smrti proti Barbarossově armádě...

Year 1100. Italy.The Northern lands are ruled by a German emperor: Fredrick aka "Barbarossa. His dream is to conquer also the lands in the Center and in the South so as to revive the Empire that was once of the one Charles Magno.But in the North a young man from Milan has formed an army of 900 young men coming from different cities: the "company of death". This young man's name is Alberto Da Giussano. His dream is to defeat the Emperor and to give back freedom to the Northern lands.

La vicenda si svolge nelle terre dell'Italia del Nord soggette al dominio dell'Imperatore tedesco Federico detto Barbarossa. Il suo sogno è di conquistare anche le regioni del Centro e del Sud per riunificare l'Impero che un tempo era di Carlo Magno. Il racconto inizia nelle campagne intorno a Milano, anno 1158. Un ragazzo salva fortunosamente la vita a uno sconosciuto cavaliere. Il giovane si chiama Alberto da Giussano, milanese e figlio di un fabbro, e non crede ai suoi occhi quando capisce che il guerriero imponente che ha di fronte è Federico I di Hohenstaufen, l'imperatore.
