Like many 10-year-olds Sean Motherway idolises his dad. They spend a lot of time together, going to Sean's sports training where his dad gives him advice from the sidelines, cheering together at GAA matches, getting their hair cut at the barbers and just generally hanging out. But unlike many ten-year-olds Sean's dad is going to Kosovo for a year with the Irish army. Sean isn't sure how he'll cope without him and is finding it tough anticipating a year without his dad. We stay with Sean and see how things change while his dad is away. Will he spend more time hanging out with his mum? Will he be able to do well in sports without his dad to coach him on from the sidelines? Will the time apart from his dad change him? Will Sean be able to manage without his dad?
