On July 13, 1936, the monarchical deputy José Calvo Sotelo, who had distinguished himself in the Cortes for denouncing the state of public disorder that had been experienced in Spain since the triumph of the Popular Front, was taken from his home by a group of militants of the PSOE and members of the State security forces exalted by the murder of Lieutenant Castillo.
El 13 de julio de 1936 el diputado monárquico José Calvo Sotelo, que se había distinguido en las Cortes por denunciar el estado de desorden público que se vivía en España desde el triunfo del Frente Popular, fue sacado de su casa por un grupo de militantes del PSOE y miembros de las fuerzas de seguridad del Estado exaltados por el asesinato del teniente Castillo.
