Staudammprojekte in Laos und weiter oben in China sind hoch umstritten und gelten bei Naturschützern als Gefährdung der natürlichen Wasserstände und der Fischbestände. Die Prognose: Schon eine Generation später wird man diesen Fluss nicht mehr so erleben können wie auf dieser Reise.
