Najib (Hanin Msellek) comes from a traditional Moroccan family and although he is a fairly free-spirited boy, he occasionally falls back into the system in which he grew up. His brother Nasr (Najib Amhali) has been in prison for some time for dealing in drugs. Najib is the only one who still has contact with him. The family, and in particular father, thinks the shame is too great and doesn't want to know anything about him. Julia (Tara Elders) is a hockey talent and trains for the Dutch Juniors, until she breaks her ankle in the presence of Najib. At that moment the seed is laid for a love that will prove to be virtually impossible. Julia's father, Albert (Jack Wouterse), is a police officer. His friend and colleague Joost (who turns out to be corrupt) (Maarten Wansink) is the father of Floris (Thijs Römer), Julia's hockey trainer is secretly in love with her. It soon turns out that Joost knows Najib's brother, and that he has therefore trafficked drugs and received black money. so he also suspected Najib, and then he told Albert, and he was no longer allowed to deal with her. Najib and Julia have to fight 13 episodes for their love. Finally Najib and Julia find the drowning death.
