Sol et Gobelet is a Quebec children's television program broadcast from 1968 to 1971 on Radio-Canada. Two clowns, Sol (Marc Favreau) and Gobelet (Luc Durand), live in a bizarre apartment where bizarre stories happen to them. Through its tasty language and absurd situations, this program marked Quebec during its broadcast period, and subsequently in reruns. Manipulating subtle or wacky humour, irony and puns, the duo represent a modern, urban take on the august and white clown archetypes. The action takes place in a minimalist setting, a few pieces of furniture and accessories surrounded by a black void.
