Dorfhelfer Janne ist für das Wohl der Alten in Lappland unentbehrlich. Täglich fährt er weite Strecken, um deren Leistungsfähigkeit zu erhalten, indem er sie bei alltäglichen Dingen unterstützt. Es ist ein erklärtes Ziel der finnischen Regierung, dass alte Menschen so lange wie möglich in ihrem gewohnten Umfeld wohnen bleiben. Damit das gelingt, braucht es mehr Dorfhelfer*innen.
Cada día, Janne Aikio recorre largas distancias para cuidar a ancianos y ayudarles en sus tareas cotidianas. La mayoría forma parte del pueblo sami, cuya vida cotidiana está marcada por actividades ancestrales. El Gobierno finlandés hace todo lo posible para que los mayores puedan permanecer en sus hogares el mayor tiempo posible. Para lograrlo, se necesitan más ayudantes como Janne.
Chaque jour, Janne Aikio parcourt de longues distances pour s’occuper de personnes âgées, en majorité des Samis. Une population dont le quotidien est rythmé par des activités ancestrales. Pour que, même à un âge avancé, les Samis puissent rester dans leur environnement familier, le gouvernement finlandais fait tout pour leur assurer un maintien à domicile le plus longtemps possible.
Every day, Janne Aikio travels long distances to look after the elderly, most of whom are Sami. A population whose daily life is punctuated by ancestral activities. To ensure that, even in old age, the Sámi can remain in their familiar surroundings, the Finnish government is doing its utmost to ensure that they remain at home for as long as possible.
