John en het klusteam zijn in Kedichem in de provincie Utrecht. Chamilla en Juan kochten twee jaar geleden hun droomhuis, een voormalig boerenwoning waar heel veel aan verbouwd moet worden. In het begin kregen ze hulp van vrienden, maar de klus is veel te groot. Inmiddels is het huis een bouwval. Niets is af, er is schimmel, het is koud en Chamilla en Juan slapen in de woonkamer.
