《双城生活》是金牌编剧王丽萍继《媳妇的美好时代》《我的美丽人生》之后又一部力作。讲述上海小伙子徐嘉惠在北京进修时，与北京姑娘郝京妮陷入热恋，两人不顾双方家长反对，结婚成家。郝京妮为徐嘉惠辞去工作来到上海。徐母杨曼莉是老字号钟表行的行家，生活讲究，看不惯粗枝大叶的京妮，婆媳的巨大差异使得她们怎么也不能相处融洽。
