Five daughters send their mums undercover as 21-year-olds. From dating to working to activism, the mums will be immersed in their world. Can the mums pull off being 21 Again? Five daughters and their out-of-touch mums arrive in Liverpool for the start of a unique 21-day social experiment. By living as 21-year-olds once again, will the mums finally be able to understand their daughters better? The girls kick things off by sending their mums out for an intensive makeover, where they’re transformed into undercover 21-year-olds. Fresh from the salon, the mums are thrown into the world of selfies, social media and online dating – all under the watchful eyes of their daughters. Jo and her daughter Devon go on a double date undercover as cousins, Salena braves it on a date with a bloke half her age, and Harjit and Kiran take part in a Gen Z singles night. But can the mums pass the test and convince their dates that they are 21-year-olds? And will the girls survive the embarrassment of dating with their mums? Will the maternal instinct take over when the subject turns to sexting, and will one mum's attempt to drink like one of the kids and speak their lingo give the game away? Can they get their mums to pull off being 21 again, and will the experiment bring them closer together?
Five daughters have sent their mums undercover as 21-year-olds to bridge the generation gap and bring them closer. Now into the second phase of the experiment, it's time to up the ante as the girls pack their mums off to work. What the girls do, or want to do, for a living has caused rifts in their relationships, so this week the girls want to set their mums straight. The girls turn the tables and challenge their mums to find out what the world of work is like for Gen Z. Harjit and Monera try out the glamorous life of a social media influencer at an online fashion brand audition. They've got to fake it as young Instagrammers and try to make it onto the brand’s Insta feed, but Harjit’s already out of her depth when she's asked to pick and style outfits. Monera, however, throws herself into the challenge, launching her own account and getting spotted online, while her daughter watches on in horror. From the dream job to the reality – Rachel’s daughter, Taylor, packs her off to experience her own unpredictable lifestyle in the gig economy, working a zero-hours contracts. Much to mum’s horror, she's packed off to a food delivery company and despite setting off believing it will be a doddle, her shift turns into chaos. The stress the mums feel after a couple of days of work is nothing compared to the anxiety some of the girls suffer as they all take part in a revealing mental health test - where some of the girls’ results shock their mums.
Five daughters have sent their mums undercover as 21-year-olds to bridge the generation gap and bring them closer. Now into the third phase of the experiment, the girls are pushing their mums way out of their comfort zone as they challenge their ability to accept the differences in people that Generation Z celebrate. Liverpool’s queer quarter becomes the mums’ new stomping ground as they explore the Generation Z sexual revolution and genderquake. From bi to non-binary, the mums are playing catch-up and have their preconceptions about sexuality and gender challenged. Taylor and Millie, whose mums have until now struggled to fully understand or accept their bisexuality, send their mums on a journey of discovery as they head undercover to a raucous Queer Bingo night, meet Charlie who is transitioning into man, and have a flirty night out shooting pool in a gay bar. Can the mums keep up the 21 Again charade and pass with flying rainbow colours? Daughter Devon, encouraged by the other girls in the house, makes a bold move. Having the condition PFFD, acceptance is something Devon has struggled against in the past, but Devon’s confidence is on the up and she’s about to prove it with a surprise for mum Jo. With the girls on-board, Devon’s ready to be out and proud of her disability and takes part in a photo shoot that is shown on a giant billboard in the city centre. And the mums are under pressure as they have to take to the mic in front of thousands of people, at the women’s march in London, to prove to their daughters and the thousands of other 'sisters' in the crowds, what they’ve learned so far about life as 21-year old women. If they are going to be out and proud, they might as well go large!
Five daughters have sent their mums undercover as 21-year olds in a bid to show them what life is like to be them; but have they done enough to bridge an epic generation gap and bring them closer? We're about to find out as they enter the final leg of this unique 21-day experiment. Before the mums are released back into their natural habitat, the girls have one final chance to immerse them in their world. So, this week the mums get woken up to the big issues that their daughters’ generation cares most about - from veganism to politics to feeding the homeless. Once again the girls push their mums’ boundaries. But how far will the mums go to understand their daughters? It turns out that while some of the mothers can survive without dairy and meat, others need to sneak off to break the rules! Meanwhile, Millie, who wishes her mum would engage with politics and vote, sends her mum, Salena, off to university for a political master class. Meanwhile, some of the mums are forced out onto the streets of Liverpool to help a young homeless volunteer deliver food to rough sleepers in Liverpool city centre. The experience of meeting one particular homeless man has a significant impact on Harjit as she's brought to tears by his story. This final Ep is packed with surprises - and not all from the daughters. With the experiment nearing the end, mum, Monera, embraces her daughter’s world by plumping for lip filler, while Rachel heads off for a tattoo...what will the girls say when they get home? As the experiment comes to an end, the girls and mums host an event for all the young people they’ve met during the undercover experiment. The guests have no idea they've been hanging out with middle-aged women over the last 21 days, but now it's time to tell all. With nerves showing, the mums reveal their true ages to the lads they've dated, the employers they've fooled, and the new 20-something mates they've made. The guests are in for the mother of all surprise
