Four decades of service to the Qur’an have engraved a name in the Qur’anic history of Iran: Master Ahmad Abolqasemi. Born on May 31, 1968, in southwestern Tehran, he is a man whose life story — from a shy child in the neighborhood mosque to an internationally renowned Qur’an master — reflects a lifelong devotion to the divine word. Few would believe that this prominent Qur’anic figure was once too shy to recite the Qur’an in public. In the winter of 1976, a caring mother sent her eight-year-old son to the local mosque to learn Qur’an reading. This marked the beginning of a journey that continued quietly and privately until 1982, when the passion for jihad and defending the homeland led him onto another path.
