Shirley Olivia Mills is best known for having played the roles of the youngest daughter Ruthie Joad in The Grapes of Wrath and the title character in Child Bride. Mills was also was a teenage member of Universal’s jitterbug dance troupe the Jivin’ Jacks and Jills in the ’40s
