Daniele Jörg was born in Völklingen, Germany and grew up in Poughkeepsie, USA. She studied biology in Mainz (Germany), at Oberlin College/Ohio/USA and at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Since 1991 she is freelance science journalist, working for WDR, ZDF and Dlf.Since 1995 she is commissioning editor at WDR, e.g. for „Quarks & Co“ and since October 2004 head of science, responsible for documentaries about natural sciences and technology.
