In 1985, he received the Kinokuniya Theater Award Special Award, and in 2000, the Travel Culture Award. In January 1996, he surpassed 1,000 performances at Hiroshima and Innoshima performances. It was 1,150 times at the Showamura performance in Fukushima Prefecture in March 2012, and the number of performances is still increasing.
