Johnny Mack Brown gained fame in two very different areas of entertainment: college football and Hollywood Westerns. His debut on the silver screen began in 1927 with Slide, Kelly, Slide! In the mid-1930s he began appearing in Westerns and enjoyed a long career as a cowboy movie hero, likely best known as 'Nevada Jack McKenzie' in the Rough Riders series of films.
