Special effects master John Carl Buechler (pronounced Beekler) was the first person in history to make his way into the director's chair by way of make-up effects superstardom. Besides creating creature effects for classic genre pics like Re-Animator and Ghoulies, Buechler directed such films as Troll, Cellar Dweller and Friday the 13th: The New Blood.
