Walter Cronkite

Walter Leland Cronkite Jr. was a lifelong newsman who became the voice of the truth for America as a nighttime anchorman. During his distinguished career, Cronkite won numerous awards, including the prestigious Peabody Award twice, several Emmy Awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981. Cronkite closed his newscasts by saying "and that's the way it is"
