Ulrike, a young German woman, has just been released from prison, having served a term for murdering her child. She sees life as punishment, which she deserves, for her terrible crime, until she meets Sigs and begins to fall in love. But her silence about her past makes Sigs curious, and he begins to wonder what she is hiding.
