Dracula-Abkömmling Graf Geza von Közsnöm (Moretti) ist genervt. Seine Frau (Hain) kann er nicht mehr ausstehen, das ewige untote Leben langweilt ihn, und auf die Beißerei hat er auch keine Lust mehr. Um seine Identitätskrise zu beheben, sucht er im Wien der frühen 1930er-Jahre den Seelenklempner Sigmund Freud (Karl Fischer) auf. Der kapiert zunächst überhaupt nicht, was für eine Art von Patient er vor sich hat, notiert aber Sätze wie „Mehr noch als alles andere belastet mich die Gegenwart meiner Frau“ verständnisvoll mit.

Freud offers his assistant, Viktor, to paint a portrait of the countess.
