Robin Ramzinski, better known by his ring name Randy "The Ram" Robinson, is a professional wrestler who became a celebrity in the 1980s. Now past his prime, Randy wrestles on weekends for Independent circuit in New Jersey while working part-time at a supermarket under Wayne, a demeaning manager who mocks Randy's wrestling background. As a regular at a strip club, Randy befriends a stripper named Cassidy, who is older than those usually in her profession. After winning a local match, Randy agrees to a proposed 20th-anniversary rematch with his most notable opponent, "The Ayatollah", which could bring him back to stardom.
Randy "The Ram" Robinson è un wrestler ormai avanti con gli anni per praticare questa disciplina. Vive una vita triste, in solitudine e con pochi soldi in tasca, ma dopo aver avuto un infarto cerca di cambiare. Inizia a frequentare maggiormente Cassidy, una spogliarellista di un night club in cui passa spesso il suo tempo, e prova a riallacciare i rapporti con sua figlia che non vede ormai da tanto tempo.
O pugilista Randy Robison já teve seus dias de glória, mas ainda insiste na carreira. Porém, após apanhar muito em uma luta, Randy decide pendurar as luvas e começa a trabalhar em um restaurante para pagar as contas. Ele inicia um relacionamento com uma stripper e tenta se reaproximar da filha. Mas o lutador não consegue resistir à vontade de voltar a lutar e se prepara para retornar ao ringue.
