インタビュアーの仕事をこなし、中学生と小学生のふたりの息子と暮らしている榎本登起子。単身赴任中の夫から愛人がいることを告げられる。やがて、離婚を決意し、そのことを子どもたちにも伝える。子どもたちも登起子の気持ちを理解し登起子をバックアップしていく。
