The Hollywood You Never See

An audience is attending a screening of Cleopatra (1934). The clock is turned back to show aspects of this production leading to its release. Pre-production included writing the script, casting, costume design, and sets designed and built. When production actually moves to the set, director Cecil B. DeMille explains the filming of a particular scene, including the camera used and how that affects what one actually will see on the screen, and the direction of the cast, who includes Claudette Colbert in the title role. He also chats with his crew and their respective roles in filming. After filming, things move to post-production which include recording and adding the musical score. DeMille himself credits the final product to the many who participated.
