舟を編む

玄武書房の営業部に勤める馬締光也は、独特の視点で言葉を捉える能力を買われ、新しい辞書「大渡海（だいとかい）」を編纂する辞書編集部に迎えられる。個性的な編集部の面々に囲まれ、辞書づくりに没頭する馬締は、ある日、林香具矢という女性に出会い、心ひかれる。言葉を扱う仕事をしながらも、香具矢に気持ちを伝える言葉が見つからない馬締だったが……。

Mitsuya Majime (Ryuhei Matsuda) is an unsuccessful salesman. But his love of reading and dedication, as well as a post-graduate degree in linguistics, catches the eyes of Masashi Nishioka (Joe Odagiri) and Kouhei Araki (Kaoru Kobayashi (actor)), dictionary editors who are seeking a replacement for Araki himself, as his wife is sick and he would like to spend more time by her bedside.
