Produktionsjahre: 1993-2003 Die Bibel enthält Gottes Offenbarungen, die den Menschen Hoffnung und Halt geben und noch heute Maler, Dichter und andere Künstler inspirieren. Sieben Jahre lang wurden die wichtigsten Schriften aufwändig verfilmt, vom Sündenfall über die Auferstehung Christi bis zur Apokalypse. Filmstars wie Ben Kingsley, Dennis Hopper, Monica Bellucci und Max von Sydow verkörpern ehrfürchtig Moses, Abraham und König David. Für die bewegende musikalische Untermalung sorgte Komponistenlegende Ennio Morricone.
