Каждый из эмоджи отвечает лишь за одну эмоцию, и только Джин может выражать несколько эмоций сразу. Он очень хочет стать таким же, как и его собратья, и для этого вместе со своими друзьями пускается в увлекательное путешествие по приложениям телефона в поисках программы, которая поможет ему измениться. Неожиданно герои узнают о грозной опасности, нависшей над городом. Смогут ли друзья спасти Текстополис и всех его обитателей?

Los protagonistas habitarán la misteriosa tierra de Textopolis, donde todos los emojis favoritos de la gente cobran vida, mientras esperan ser seleccionados por el usuario del teléfono. Todos los personajes tienen una sola expresión facial a excepción de Gen, un emoji que nació sin filtro y se llena de múltiples expresiones. Para lograr ser normal, Gen se embarcará en una aventura o “app-ventura”, junto a sus amigos Hi-5 y Jailbreak. Pero pronto, una gran amenaza hará que el destino de estos personajes dependa de los tres amigos, teniendo que salvar su mundo antes que sea borrado por completo.

Au sein de l’appli de messagerie, la cité de Textopolis fourmille d’activité : c’est là que vivent tous les émojis, chacun porté par l’espoir d’être choisi par l’utilisateur du téléphone… Dans ce monde, chaque émoji ne possède qu’une seule expression faciale. Seul Bof, un émoji exubérant né sans aucun filtre, dispose de multiples expressions. Rêvant désespérément de devenir « normal », pareil aux autres émojis, Bof demande de l’aide à son meilleur ami, Tope-Là, et à la célèbre casseuse de codes, Rebelle. Tous trois s’embarquent dans une « app-venture » épique d’appli en appli, passant d’un monde fou et amusant à l’autre, à la recherche du code qui accomplira le rêve de Bof. Mais un terrible danger menace bientôt le smartphone. Le destin de tous les émojis repose désormais sur les trois amis. À eux de sauver leur monde avant qu’il ne soit effacé à jamais...

Dietro tutte le app di messaggistica si nasconde Messaggiopolis, una vivace città in cui vivono le emoticon, che sperano di essere selezionate dal proprietario dello smartphone. Ogni emoji ha una sola espressione facciale ma ciò non vale per Gene, una esuberante icona nata senza filtri e dotata di espressioni multiple. Determinato a diventare "normale" per essere simile alle altre emoticon, Gene chiede aiuto al miglior amico Gimme-5 e alla famigerata hacker Rebel. I tre si imbarcheranno in un avventuroso viaggio tra app per trovare il Codice che potrà risolvere il problema di Gene. Quando però un pericolo maggiore minaccia tutto lo smartphone, avranno per le mani il destino di tutte le emoticon e del loro universo.

Gene is an emoji that lives in Textopolis, a digital city inside the phone of his user Alex. He is the son of two meh emojis named Mel and Mary, and is able to make multiple expressions despite his parents' upbringing. His parents are hesitant of him going to work, but Gene insists so that he can feel useful. Upon receiving a Text messaging from his crush Addie, Alex decides to send her an emoji. When Gene is selected, he panics, makes a panicked expression, and wrecks the text center. Gene is called in by Smiler, a smiley emoji and leader of the text center, who concludes that Gene is a "malfunction" and therefore must be deleted. Gene is chased by Software agent, but is rescued by Hi-5, a once popular emoji who has since lost his fame due to lack of use. He tells Gene that he can be fixed if they find a hacker, and Hi-5 accompanies him so that he can reclaim his fame.
