The California Golden Seals were one of the greatest hopes....and biggest disappointments of the NHL's 1967 Great Expansion from six teams to twelve. During their nine-year existence, the management of the Seals made nearly every mistake possible. Their story includes white ice skates, orange pucks, future superstars that slipped through their fingers, a tragic on-ice death, an out-of-control owner, a female streaker, Tom Hanks, Wayne Gretzky, a cheerleader named Krazy George, and even the Hell's Angels.
