After the systematic expropriation of his entire village to make way for a major tourism project, the young countryman and disgusted former cafe owner, Mimis, summons up the strength to move into the faceless mid-1970s Athens. Like a fish out of water, Mimis has to land a job fast to eke out a living; however, his almost stubborn petty-bourgeois mentality stands in the way of a better future, rendering impossible any form of reconciliation between his beliefs and the harsh new reality. Deep down, Mimis has a master plan: he wants to start a small business; find a place to stay; fall in love, and start a family; nevertheless, he is running out of time, and above all, money. Will the grey capital shatter Mimis' dreams? Will he humble himself and accept the way of the world? —Nick Riganas
