新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックで世界中がロックダウンに追い込まれた2020年。リモートワークを機に東京の大企業に勤める釣り好きの晋作(菅田将暉)は、４LDK・家賃6万円の神物件に一目惚れ。何より海が近くて大好きな釣りが楽しめる三陸の町で気楽な“お試し移住”をスタート。仕事の合間には海へ通って釣り三昧の日々を過ごすが、東京から来た〈よそ者〉の晋作に、町の人たちは気が気でない。一癖も二癖もある地元民の距離感ゼロの交流にとまどいながらも、持ち前のポジティブな性格と行動力でいつしか溶け込んでいく晋作だったが、その先にはまさかの人生が待っていた—？！
