In a world where Santa is real and wants to drum up some holiday spirit, two of Santa's elves, Chuck and Debbie, devise a plan to grant one human on Earth three wishes to kickstart the holidays. Unfortunately, that human is Erin, who has lost all affection for the season. Even a blind date set up by her sister, with the affable and charming Sam, won't change her mind about Christmas. But when she makes the mistake of wishing Christmas would 'just disappear.'

Alors que le Père Noël souhaite stimuler l'esprit des fêtes, deux de ses lutins, Chuck et Debbie, conçoivent un plan pour accorder trois vœux à un humain. Hélas, le hasard veut que cet humain soit Erin, une jeune femme qui a perdu toute affection pour Noël. Même un rendez-vous arrangé par sa sœur avec l'affable et charmant Sam ne la fera pas changer d'avis sur cette fête ! Mais lorsqu'elle commet l'erreur de souhaiter que Noël "disparaisse", Erin se réveille dans un monde où Noël n'a jamais existé ! Horrifiée, elle se rend compte qu'elle a privé tout le monde de la joie de Noël. Elle demande alors à Sam de l'aider à le réinventer. Ce faisant, Erin réalise à quel point Noël et ses traditions ont compté pour tous ceux qui l'entourent et à quel point Sam a fini par compter pour elle.
Erin hat jede Lust auf Weihnachten verloren. Selbst ein Blind Date mit dem charmanten Sam versetzt sie nicht in Festtagsstimmung. Als sie sich wünscht, dass Weihnachten einfach verschwinden soll, erwacht sie in einer Welt ohne diesen Feiertag. Sie erkennt, dass sie allen Menschen die Freude genommen hat und beschließt, gemeinsam mit Sam das Weihnachtsfest neu zu erfinden. Dabei kommen sich die beiden immer näher.
