Italy, today. Some elderly hunters reminisce about the local tale of Luciano. Luciano lives as a wandering drunkard in a remote village of the region called Tuscia. Spiteful actions ensue between him and the prince of the region over the right of passage through an ancient gateway. Fueled by passions and jealousy, these actions result in a horrible misdeed. Now an unfortunate criminal, Luciano is exiled to the distant Tierra del Fuego where, with the help of ruthless gold-diggers, he searches for a mythical treasure, paving his way towards redemption. However, in these barren lands, only greed and insanity can prevail.
Small town in Italy, end of the 19th century. Luciano, a drunk, accidentally kills his lover during a revolt against the local Prince. To pay for his crime, he is forced into exile on the most remote island in the world, Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego. The hunt for the shipwreck treasure hidden on the island becomes his opportunity for redemption.
De nos jours, dans la campagne italienne, de vieux chasseurs se remémorent la légende de Luciano. Ivrogne errant dans un village isolé de Tuscie, Luciano s'oppose sans relâche à la tyrannie du Prince de la province. La rivalité grandissante entre les deux hommes, alimentée par les passions et la jalousie, pousse Luciano à commettre l'irréparable. Contraint à l'exil dans la lointaine Terre de Feu, à l'extrême sud de l'Argentine, l'infortuné criminel, entouré de chercheurs d'or cupides, se met en quête d'un mystérieux trésor enfoui qui pourrait bien être sa seule voie vers la rédemption. Mais sur ces terres arides, seules l'avidité et la folie prévalent.
