في إحدى القرى تتولد قصة حب بين فاطمة وعبد الكريم ولكنه قبل الزواج منها، توقعه شهيرة ابنة المدينة في حبائلها، وتخطأ معه، وأمام هذه الخطيئة يقرر الزواج منها والتخلي عن فاطمة، وقبل موعد الزفاف تهرب شهيرة مع عشيق اخر لها، مما يصدم عبدالكريم، ويقرر الزواج من فاطمة
