„My Companion“ ist eine Agentur, bei der man Personen für alle Zwecke mieten kann. Matthias, Mitbesitzer und bester Angestellter, schlüpft wortgewandt in jede Rolle, die von ihm erwartet wird. Nur privat wird ihm diese Fähigkeit zum Verhängnis, als ihn seine Lebensgefährtin Sophia mit dem Vorwurf verlässt, keine eigene Persönlichkeit zu haben. Dies stürzt Matthias in eine Sinneskrise und lässt ihn mit der Frage zurück: "Bin ich echt?"
