故事發生在1989年全民皆股的年代，小男孩廖界與父親廖泰來相依為命，他們相信人性本善，沒發現世界正在改變。股市飆漲、物價翻倍，有人一夕暴富，有人意識到現實殘酷；單純老實的廖界父子屬於後者。不料，他們碰上了聰明狡猾的「老狐狸」，命運道路可能截然不同。財富與良心兩條岔路，該怎麼選？
