Im berüchtigten Nachtklub "Eva" wird während einer Striptease-Show ein Kriminalkommissar ermordet. Vom Täter fehlt allerdings jede Spur. Das einzige Indiz ist die Tatwaffe: eine Nylonschlinge. Inspektor Harvey von Scotland Yard wird mit dem Fall betraut. Harvey verstrickt sich bald darauf in einem Netz aus Sex, Gewalt und Betrug. Als er dem geheimnisvollen Täter schließlich näher zu kommen scheint, wendet sich dieser gegen ihn. Harvey soll das nächste Opfer der Nylonschlinge werden.
