My Little Devil

After the tragic passing away of his mother, Joseph Ignace alias Jassiya (Rushabh Patni) is sent to a Catholic Hostel where he can continue his studies as well as live in the hostel. The sudden separation from his mother, diet, and familiar surroundings of his village, has a deep impact on Joseph, and he initially cannot stomach the food served in the hostel cafetaria. He then comes across a fellow student, Sandu (Gaffar Modi) who belongs to the Siddi community, a little known minority group in India, who are of African origin. He finds out Sandu is so hungry that he will not even eat the cafetaria food but also take some home to his mom and two other siblings, who are struggling to make a living after their father left them for whereabouts unknown. Joseph starts to share the food from his plate; then he takes extra servings; even byhelping in the cafetaria; and then takes to stealing as much food as he can for Sandu's family

À la mort de sa mère, Joseph, un petit garçon de dix ans, est envoyé dans un pensionnat par son père. Triste, il quitte Magan, son meilleur ami, et le village de son enfance pour connaître une nouvelle vie. C'est dans ce pensionnat sur le littoral de l'océan Indien qu'il fera, durant sa récréation, une rencontre qui changera sa vie à tout jamais: celle de Sandu, un adolescent vivant dans une extrême pauvreté. Pour la toute première fois, Joseph est témoin de la véritable misère. Révolté par une telle injustice, l'enfant décide d'aider son nouvel ami. Tous les jours, le petit Joseph "emprunte" du pain à la cuisine de l'école pour le donner à Sandu et sa famille... jusqu'au moment où il se fait prendre la main dans le sac. Vingt ans plus tard, Joseph et Sandu se revoient par hasard dans une gare lointaine. Joseph est devenu un écrivain célèbre et Sandu, un conducteur de locomotive. Cette fois-ci, c'est Sandu qui offre un morceau de pain à Joseph.
