Damals waren sie bloß befreundet, nun sind sie ein Paar: "Mütter, Väter, Kinder" ist die Fortsetzung der Komödie "Wie krieg ich meine Mutter groß?". Diesmal geht es um Freud und Leid der Patchwork-Familie: Ginger, das ewige Blumenkind, muss sich um die kranke Mutter kümmern, vernachlässigt ihren Freund Hans und lernt dafür Pfleger Laurens schätzen. Hans wiederum wird heftig von Marianne umworben, Gingers Tochter will ihren leiblichen Vater kennen lernen, und Sohn Max ist schwer verliebt.
