En 1982, la Fuerzas Armadas Britanicas enviaron a las islas al capitan Geoffrey Cardozo, quien se dedicó a enterrar a soldados argentinos con los mismos honores que a los ingleses. Asi nació, en febrero de 1983, el Cementerio de Darwin.
