Piet (Heino Ferch) hat einen Tiefpunkt erreicht: Nicht nur, dass er in einem schäbigen Hotelzimmer lebt, sich mit seinem besten Freund Kubi die Zeit vertreiben muss sondern auch sein Fallmanager droht ihm mit Hartz-IV-Kürzungen. Widerwillig nimmt Piet eine Stelle bei der Tafel an. Bereits sein erster Arbeitstag hat es ihn sich. Er trifft unversehens auf seine Ex-Freundin Veronika (Tanja Wedhorn). Sofort fliegen die Fetzen, denn das einstige Traumpaar hat noch eine Rechnung offen.
