Un homme et une femme, tous deux boat-people, se rencontrent dans un camp de transit en Indonésie. Quelques années plus tard, dans le 13ème arrondissemnt de Paris, on les retrouve mariés. Un soir, le amri découvre que sa femme est en réalité sa soeur qu'il croyait morte pendant la guerre à l'âge de cinq ans.
