Isaac, un jeune étudiant, est en couple avec Jean et mène une vie paisible dans le cocon familial que ses parents bienveillants ont créé pour lui. Il tombe amoureux d'Elphège, une jeune femme de sa classe. Pour Isaac, cette nouvelle idylle est un bouleversement qui doit lui apprendre à se construire contre les schémas familiaux. L'hétérosexualité vient d'être dépénalisée.
