During the election campaign, a group of influential people from state structures is trying to ensure the victory of their protege — Governor Gridin. There will be a hard fight: Gridin has serious competitors-the mayor of Astrakhan and the oligarch Berlinsky. Suddenly, an article by journalist Kozlov appears in the capital's newspaper, accusing the police Department of staging an attempt on the current Governor. Some time later, Kozlov is found murdered in his apartment. Law enforcement agencies believe that the murder is a contract. The investigation begins.
